Remove stored passwords and auto-complete entries: Google Chrome

Storing passwords in your browser is not recommended, as it poses a security risk. Auto-complete entries can cause accidental incorrect input into fields in web forms.

Turn off saved passwords

Step 1


Open Google Chrome, select the menu button in the top right hand corner, and select Settings:

On the left hand side, select the Auto-fill menu:

In the main screen, select the Passwords option:

Ensure that Offer to save passwords is turned off:

Remove stored passwords

Step 1


Select the Privacy and Security menu on the left hand side:

Choose Clear Browsing Data:

Select the Advanced tab. Ensure that Passwords and other sign-in data, and Auto-fill form data are ticked, and that the Time range at the top is set to All time. Click Clear data:
