Legal Aid time recording is set up by default, but if you are intending to use time recording on your private matters, you will need to set it up first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below is an diagram of how Osprey calculates the rates for the matter &#8211; Fee earners are linked to a remuneration rate (e.g. \u00a3200\/per hour), and the activity is linked to the worktype~<br>(e.g. travelling is calculated 50% of the fee earner&#8217;s hourly rate).<br>Using the above rates, if the fee earner records 1 unit of time for travelling, it will be 1 unit of (\u00a3200\/2) = \u00a310.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"855\" height=\"589\" src=\"https:\/\/support.ospreyapproach.com\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture49.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64002\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture49.png 855w, https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture49-300x207.png 300w, https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture49-768x529.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"h2 wp-block-paragraph\">Choosing your Style of Time Recording<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firstly, we will need to decide how to time record. Osprey allows three different methods of recording your time entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to Supervisor &gt; System Setup &gt; System Settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Edit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down if required to the settings for Time Units and Time Type:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"738\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/support.ospreyapproach.com\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture48.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63996\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture48.png 738w, https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture48-300x180.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 738px) 100vw, 738px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Time Units setting gives you three options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Actual Time <\/strong>\u2013 Use this if you want your fee earners to record their time as the actual number of hours\/minutes that they spent on the work. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>6 Minute Units <\/strong>\u2013 Use this if you want to record time in 6 minute units e.g. fee earner enters 1 for 6 minutes, 2 for 12 minutes etc. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Round up to 6 mins <\/strong>\u2013 Use this if you want to record in actual time, but have the system automatically round the value up to the nearest 6 minutes of time. E.g. fee earner enters 5 minutes &#8211; system records 6 minutes, fee earner enters 13 minutes &#8211; system records 18 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"577\" height=\"231\" src=\"https:\/\/support.ospreyapproach.com\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture39-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63995\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture39-1.png 577w, https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture39-1-300x120.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 577px) 100vw, 577px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Time Type option gives you 2 options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Integrated <\/strong>\u2013 Use this option if you wish to incorporate your time when billing your clients. When a bill is posted to the client ledger, the system will ask you which time entries you want to bill. The time will then be removed from the list of WIP and placed into the Billed Time area of Osprey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Non-Integrated <\/strong>\u2013 Use this option if you do not wish to incorporate your time when billing your clients. This can be Hourly or Unitary. If you chose to record time in 6 Minute Units earlier, time will still be recorded in units even if you select Hourly here. Choose:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hourly \u2013 if you want all fee earners to charge the same set percentage of their Hourly Rate for this activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unitary \u2013 if you want all fee earners to charge the same amount for this activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>e.g. 1 &#8211; Choosing 100 in the Percentage\/Unit Rate box, and Hourly in the Rate Type means that each fee earner will charge 100% of their hourly rate per hour for this activity. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>e.g. 2 &#8211; Choosing 15 in the Percentage\/Unit Rate box, and Unitary in the Rate Type means that every fee earner will charge \u00a315 per unit for this activity.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>e.g. 3 \u2013 Choosing 50 in the Percentage\/Unit Rate box, and Hourly in the Rate Type means that each fee earner will charge 50% of their hourly rate per hour for this activity \u2013 sometimes used for Letters In.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"704\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/support.ospreyapproach.com\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture42-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63991\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture42-1.png 704w, https:\/\/ospreyapproach2022.wireddemo.co.uk\/content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/Picture42-1-300x145.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 704px) 100vw, 704px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click Save when you are done. Repeat for each Activity Code you want to link to the work type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"h2 wp-block-paragraph\">Adding Additional Remuneration Types<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The below link will show you how to add Remuneration types if required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.ospreyapproach.com\/guides\/adding-remuneration-types\/\">https:\/\/support.ospreyapproach.com\/guides\/adding-remuneration-types\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"h2 wp-block-paragraph\">Linking and Updating Fee Earners&#8217; Charging Rates (Remuneration Types)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the majority of your fee earners charge \u00a3150 per hour for this Remuneration Type, but there are one or two who have a different hourly rate, we can link these fee earners to charge a different rate to the \u00a3150 default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Navigate to Supervisor &gt;
